Samuel Hazo, inaugural Poet Laureate of Pennsylvania and founder of the International Poetry Forum, will offer a poetry reading at the Carnegie Library Lecture Hall.
The reading will celebrate the relaunch of the International Poetry Forum, a nonprofit organization which Hazo led for 43 years (1966–2009) as host to poets and public figures such as Seamus Heaney, Jorge Luis Borges, Gwendolyn Brooks, Grace Kelly, Gregory Peck, James Earl Jones, and Queen Noor of Jordan.
Hazo will be joined by Robert Bernard Hass, poet and professor at PennWest University. Hass is executive director of the Robert Frost Society and co-editor of The Letters of Robert Frost with Harvard University Press.
The event is free but ticketed. (*This event has sold out!)
Presented by the International Poetry Forum in partnership with Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.
